How quickly can I start using DecisionMaker?
You can start using Factory DecisionMaker immediately
(see Starter Version)
If you require a system customised to your specific
requirements, depending on the complexity, Tailored
DecisionMaker can be set up anywhere within a few days
to a few weeks.

Is there a starter version?
Yes, it's called Factory DecisionMaker.
If you are used to using D&B's traditional credit risk
ratings and want an even more specific, informative
credit opinion - you will find Factory DecisionMaker
highly valuable. Like the tailored version, you can
use this service in conjunction with our normal Business
Information Reports if you wish and we will discuss
a special pricing arrangement with you.

How do I tailor DecisionMaker to
my own requirements?
Simply email decisionmaker@dnb.com
and we will get a specially trained consultant to telephone
you to:
- discuss your initial thoughts over the phone
- arrange an appointment to talk things over with
you in more depth if required
- programme the system for you - around your needs.
Please do not worry if you are not exactly sure how
you want the system to work right now, your D&B consultant
will give you advice & offer guidance throughout the
process.

Can I have a Factory or Tailored
DecisionMaker recommendation and a normal D&B credit
report at the same time?
Yes, and by doing this you will get the best
of both worlds, traditional credit data with an enhanced
credit recommendation. If you wish to do this, we will
disucss a special pricing arrangement with you.

How does Factory DecisionMaker compare
with the traditional D&B credit ratings found in every
D&B Credit Report?
Compared with a normal D&B Rating, Factory DecisionMaker
provides:
- a more specific description of credit risk
- a more detailed credit opinion
The difference is most obvious when comparing Factory
DecisionMaker with a traditional D&B report where, for
example, the company concerned has a 'D&B Rating of
3 - Greater than average risk'.
Amongst other benefits, Factory DecisionMaker sub-divides
'D&B Rating 3 - Greater than average risk' into three
distinct categories:
- Average Risk
- Greater than Average Risk
- Significant Risk
These more precise descriptions of credit risk enable
you to more easily understand and assess the risk involved
in providing credit facilities to your clients. More
details can be seen below:

Can I access DecisionMaker via the
Internet?
Yes, and using DecisionMaker via the internet
provides even more benefit:
- You can perform enquiries 'on the move' from wherever
you happen to be in the world
- You can record and embed your actual decision directly
underneath D&B's recommendation to keep a permanent
record
- All your enquiries and actual decisions are databased
automatically - viewable by you - from anywhere in
the world at a later date
- Allows desktop management of credit decisions, by
multiple credit controllers, or multiple credit functions
- Allows high quality credit decisions to be made
'off site', away from the head office function, but
remaining manageable and viewable by head office at
all times

Does DecisionMaker cover Europe?
Yes, enquiries can be performed on any business,
via Factory or Tailored DecisionMaker, in the following
countries:
- UK & Northern Ireland
- Andorra
- Belgium
- France
- Germany
- Ireland, Republic
- Italy
- Luxembourg
- Monaco
- Netherlands
- Portugal
- San Marino
- Spain
Other countries around the world will be added in the
future.

What are the technical requirements?
DecisionMaker for the Internet requires:
- PC & modem or leased line (preferable)
- Windows 95, 98 or NT 4
- World Wide Web connection - either via an Internet
Service Provider or via a corporate LAN
- Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) enabled browser. We recommend
that you use Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet
Explorer version 4.0 or above.
